A bit of a rough week

Kaden has had a rough week since he turned 2. He has developed what they call a granuloma under his g-tube button. It is basically an overgrowth of cells that look similar to a blister. It started to push his g-tube button sideways, so I had to take him in to get the granuloma burned off with silver nitrate. The Dr. was also concerned that he still has a nasty lesion on his boy parts from the earlier issue. He will go back in on Monday to have the granuloma re-burned and to have the lesion re-assesed. Brian and I have really struggled with Kaden's moods this week. He has been very difficult with all of his cares and has started showing some odd behaviors. He also has started frequent episodes during the night where he cries and screams and kicks.... it takes several seconds to calm him down. We will follow up with his neurologist and see what he thinks. He had a very scary episode yesterday with Brian. We still have to give Kaden his baths in the sink, and we typically brush his teeth while he's in the bath. He had an aversion to his new toothpaste and decided to wretch and gag and stop breathing for a few seconds. Brian gave him a tiny piece of cereal to help get the toothpaste taste out of his mouth (and cheer him up) and then he started choking. Brian was preparing to pull him out of the bath and do the Heimlich manuever, and Kaden finally cleared his airway. Brian was scared to see his son change so quickly. He had never had to deal with that alone before (I was showering), and I hope he never has to again. We still don't have staffing. Thank you so much to my mom for all of your help! I don't know how we would get by without you! Hopefully we will find some quality nurses soon so we can both rest. (And we thought he was difficult before....boy where we ever mistaken).
