Celebration of Life!

Hi everyone,
We are home and settled after a long couple of weeks on the road. We still haven't made a final decision regarding our plans for the near future, but I can honestly say that I'm pleased with Kaden's progress. He was such a trooper on the trip and Dr. Abdallah has given us so much hope for Kaden's life.
It's after midnight now and I'm watching him sleep so peacefully. His vitals look great and he looks like an angel curled up on his bed. Our baby boy is officially 4 years old now. We will continue to pray for a miracle. God is good. He know's what our future holds.

Thank you so much again to everyone that made our journey possible. Your prayers and generosity made our visit to Dr. Abdallah a reality. He is a wonderful man, soft spoken and humble. He was very gentle with his actions and kind with his words. He made Brian and I realize just how complex Kaden is, but made sure that we also realized that we are privileged to have him as our son. My brother John had very wise words for us to hear. He used the analogy of a "Jenga" puzzle when describing how he views Kaden's complexities. He said that if one piece wasn't set correctly everything built on top of it would be unstable. If you all stop and visualize for a moment you can almost "see" the Jenga puzzle tipping over. Well, Dr. Abdallah found the piece that wasn't placed just right and is able to fix it. Therefore, Kaden won't tip over. He will thrive and grow. I know it in my heart as sure as I know my own name. I just don't know if it can be done in Colorado.
We will get through this. Our journey has been long and hard...but we are a team and can make it through anything. Four years ago today I never would have thought I'd be living this life. However....I love my life. We are blessed. We have a roof over our heads, food on the table, clothes on our backs, jobs, friends, family, and four incredible children. If we could safely relocate Kaden without leaving two of our children behind, we wouldn't even hesitate. Our fear and discomfort stems from knowing that we won't have Brandon and Evan with us if we move. They made the decision to stay here with Mary (Brandon's mom) and Chad (Evan's dad) and we must acknowledge and honor their decisions. It's very difficult to imagine sitting at the dinner table, having family time, praying, and spending time as a family without my Bubba and Lil B. Please continue praying that we won't have to move and tear our family apart. Until then...there is much to be done. We know that we need to trust. Trust the doctor. Trust each other. Trust God....He's brought us this far right?
A note to Kaden;
Happy Birthday Little Man...You made our family complete. You fill our hearts with joy and peace. May God help you grow big and strong. We love you buddy!
